Easter Sunday is behind us and churches everywhere saw an explosion of people show up celebrating the first real Easter since the start of the pandemic. Atlanta is home to quite a few mega churches and the ghost of Eddie Long haunts the halls of New Birth. "Believe God when everything else tells you not to" was this Sunday's lesson. How fitting. So don't trust your gut, trust God.
Oddly enough Atlanta is also the site of the latest religious cult. You probably thought cults weren't a black person phenomenon. Well, you are wrong. This cult is all black and the claim is that God is there. So much so that it is even coming out of unlikely places in the form of God Energy.
